The short version. California law gives you a non-waivable 3-day right of cancellation with a full refund. After that, because our work begins immediately and is largely non-recoverable, the engagement fee is non-refundable. We do offer a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee on case quality — see below.

Full refund of the engagement fee, no questions asked. Guaranteed by California law (Civil Code §1689.5 et seq.).
Day 4+ (work has begun)
Non-refundable
Once work begins, the engagement fee is non-refundable. Substantial resources are committed up-front to each case.
1. Your California 3-day cancellation right
California Home Solicitation Sales Act — Civil Code §1689.5 et seq.
You have the right to cancel this agreement and obtain a full refund within three (3) business days after the date you sign the engagement or make your first payment, whichever is later. This right cannot be waived, even if you agreed otherwise.
How to exercise the 3-day right
- Email support@voidmysolar.com from the email address on your account;
- Subject line: "3-Day Cancellation";
- Include your full name and the date you signed the engagement;
- We confirm receipt within 1 business day;
- Refund of the full engagement fee paid is issued to your original payment method within 10 business days.
2. After day 3 — non-refundable
Once the 3-day cancellation window has passed and we have commenced work on your case (intake, contract analysis, lender contact, or any outbound communication on your behalf — collectively, "Case Stage 0+"), the engagement fee is non-refundable.
Why we're firm on this
- Up-front resource commitment. We allocate analyst, paralegal, and case-manager time within the first 72 hours of every engagement.
- Non-recoverable work. Demand letters, regulatory filings, and lender contact cannot be un-sent. Once outreach has occurred on your behalf, our investment is sunk regardless of the outcome.
- Continuous attention. Cases require ongoing attention from your case manager whether they resolve in 30 days or 9 months.
- Fair pricing means firm policies. Our flat $4,995 fee is intentionally lower than equivalent legal representation — that pricing only works if we don't refund completed work.
3. The 100% Satisfaction Guarantee
Separate from refunds: we stand behind the quality of our work.
- Communication. If you don't hear from your case manager for more than 14 calendar days without a scheduled reason, we will credit your account with a documented case-quality remedy at our discretion.
- Case quality. If we determine after intake that your case falls outside our service scope or has no reasonable path to cancellation, we will refund any installments paid after the discovery point, and stop further charges.
- Conflict. If you and your case manager cannot work together effectively, we will reassign you to a new case manager at no charge.
The Satisfaction Guarantee is not an outcome guarantee. We don't and can't guarantee your contract will be cancelled — but we guarantee we will do the work, communicate, and treat you with respect.
4. Installment plans & refunds
If you're on a 2-, 3-, 4-, or 5-payment installment plan:
- Within the 3-day window: any installment paid is refunded in full, and future installments are cancelled.
- After the 3-day window: remaining installments continue to be due according to your plan, even if you discontinue communication with us. Unpaid installments may be sent to collections and reported to credit bureaus per applicable law.
- If we close your case for cause (case-quality remedy, see §3): we refund any installments paid after our case-closure date.
5. Cases we don't accept (full refund)
Some inquiries don't make it past our initial review. If we determine — typically within 2 business days of receiving your VOIDCheck™ submission — that your case falls into one of these categories, we will not accept the engagement and any fee paid will be fully refunded:
- You are not the homeowner or co-signer on the contract;
- The matter is already in active litigation;
- Your contract type or state is not within our current service scope;
- The matter requires direct legal representation, not consumer advocacy.
This sits separate from the 3-day cancellation right above — these are cases we proactively decline before the 3-day clock starts running.
6. Stripe processing fees on chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of asking us for a refund or invoking your 3-day right, Stripe charges us a non-refundable dispute fee. We won't pass that fee on to you, but please email us first — chargebacks are slower, less effective, and may result in your account being closed before resolution. We respond to every legitimate refund request promptly.
7. How to request a refund (full summary)
- Email support@voidmysolar.com from the email on your account;
- Subject line: "Refund Request" (or "3-Day Cancellation" if within the 3-day window);
- Tell us briefly what's going on — we read every message;
- We confirm receipt within 1 business day;
- If approved, refund is issued to your original payment method within 10 business days.
8. Disputes
Disputes about refunds are subject to the binding arbitration and class-action waiver provisions in our Terms of Service §12. Nothing in this policy waives your non-waivable rights under California consumer-protection law, including the 3-day cancellation right.
